In den Ohren auf dem Weg zur Arbeit

Seit Ende Mai arbeite ich in Paris bei der Frauenfußball WM, und mein Arbeitsplatz ist in Laufweite zum Hotel - mit dem luxuriösen Extra von Laufbändern auf einem Teil der Strecke. Das heißt: der Schrittzähler zählt seit ein paar Wochen spürbar über der Norm und ich habe beim zu Fuß Pendeln ein paar Favoriten, also Lieder die besser funktionieren als andere gefunden.

"Bloc Party spielen 'silent alarm' live in der Columbiahalle in Berlin" - dass die Idee kurz entschlossen nach dem Lesen dieser Meldung im Frühjahr sofort Tickets zu kaufen nicht so schlecht war, dachten wohl noch ein paar mehr Leute als ich - das Konzert war quasi sofort ausverkauft.

Die zwischenzeitliche Befürchtung "das kürzeste Konzert aller Zeiten weil das Album nicht so lang und ziemlich schnell ist" zu besuchen waren auch unbegründet, sie haben dann doch ein bisschen mehr gespielt als 'nur' silent alarm:

"Eine Band spielt ein Album das ich mag" - nach U2 mit Joshua Tree 2017 war das gestern schon zum zweiten Mal ein sehr schöner Abend, mit dem kleinen Bonus dass das Konzert auch noch in der Columbia Halle war (da haben wir zum ersten Mal oasis live gesehen und hatten danach eine der schönsten Nächte überhaupt mit jeder Menge toller Menschen und Orte, da darf man schon mal kurz sentimental werden wenn man die Leuchtschrift über dem Eingang wieder mal sieht).

Die Antwort lautet Null - iTunes Charts 2013

Sachen gibt's... Obwohl die Seite hier mehr oder weniger brach liegt hat doch jemand gefragt warum es für 2013 nicht wie in den letzten Jahren auch die Rubrik "iTunes Charts" gibt, in der die Anzahl der Wiedergaben darüber entscheidet wer es in die Top 100 geschafft hat und wer nicht.

Die Antwort lautet: Null.

Alle Lieder haben im Moment den Zählerstand Null, zumindest die die noch da sind: kurz vor Weihnachten ist die Festplatte mit der Bibliothek kaputt gegangen, eine Woche nachdem die Bibliothek auf eben diese Festplatte umgezogen ist. Und nein, ich habe die alte nicht mehr...

Vor dem Crash waren gut 9000 Titel in der Bibliothek, auch viele TV-Serien und ein paar Filme. Nachdem ich eine neue Bibliothek erstellt habe und versucht habe jeden Ordner aus der alten Bibliothek von der alten Festplatte auf eine neue externe Festplatte einzeln rüber zu kopieren sind es noch 4268, es wird wohl eine Weile dauern bis alles wieder beisammen ist - wenn überhaupt noch alles aufzutreiben ist...

2013 wird es also keine Auswertung geben, einfach weil es nichts mehr gibt das man auswerten kann - bis zum Ende 2014 werden wir aber mit ziemlicher Sicherheit ein paar Lieder gehört haben, mal sehen ob sich das dann (zumindest in der Reihenfolge) mit 2012 vergleichen lässt.

itunes charts 2012, Folge 6

Bevor ich irgendwas über Musik schreibe und mit den Top 100 für 2012 beginne ein offenes Wort an itunes Version 11.0.1 (12): Du stinkst, geh nach hause! Man hat sich ja eigentlich schon dran gewöhnt dass das Programm mit jedem Update langsamer, unübersichtlicher und allgemein einfach schlechter wird, aber das hier zur Zeit ist glaube ich der absolute Tiefpunkt - schlechter kann und will ich es mir eigentlich gar nicht vorstellen... Aber egal, and now for something completely different:

Die diesjährige Top 100 der Spannung halber wie üblich rückwärts! :) Bei mehreren Titeln vom selben Interpreten mit gleichem Zählerstand hat das Los entschieden - das entzerrt die Liste etwas und schafft Platz für ein paar Neuzugänge. Und los geht's:

21. August 1997 - been there then

Plattenspieler entstaubt und nach Ewigkeiten mal wieder angeschaltet, und siehe da: funktioniert noch! Bier ist auch im Kühlschrank, perfekt: alles Gute zum 15. Geburtstag Be Here Now! Mein von den meisten Teilnehmern geschmähtes Lieblingsalbum ist jetzt exakt halb so alt wie ich - Prost!

Und: ich bin wohl auch nicht der einzige der heute die Platte auflegt und sein Glas erhebt - unglaublich wer damals alles so vor dem hmv rum gelungert hat um am Erscheinungstag ein Exemplar zu ergattern:

Ob er wohl noch seinen "Orden" hat...?

Egal. Ob der epischen Länge dieses Meisterwerks gibt es später Champions League Qualifikation mit Musik statt zdf-Expertentalk - was wenn man drüber nachdenkt eigentlich grundsätzlich keine so schlechte Idee ist... Und das beste: nach dem Album ist vor den B-Seiten! Von Angel Child, going nowhere und stay young - immer wieder erstaunlich was für Lieder Noel früher einfach so weg geschenkt hat...

"hope that you can stay" verliert zum ersten Mal seit Aussterben der Dinosaurier Platz 1 und trudelt sogar nur auf Rang 7 ein, unglaublich! Neuer Spitzenreiter ist ein Lied das nie veröffentlicht wurde, also ist/sind Home of the Lame immer noch moralischer Sieger irgendwie... ;)

"Revolution Song" also der neue Spitzenreiter, eine würdige #1 im Noel-Jahr 2011: auch "aka... what a life!" und "if I had a Gun..." von den High Flying Birds sind in den Top 100, reife Leistung wenn man bedenkt dass das Album erst im Oktober 2011 veröffentlicht wurde und unser itunes schon seit August 2005 vor sich hin rotiert... Aus dem gleichen Grund erfreulich und erstaunlich: Platz 45, herzlichen Glückwunsch!

Zum besseren Vergleich und Einordnen des morgen ENDLICH erscheinenden Meisterwerks hier meine Durchschnittswertungen aller oasis Alben in Schulnoten, ermittelt durch Bewertung der einzelnen auf den jeweiligen Alben enthaltenen Lieder:

fun facts, jippi!:

- "little james" schafft es trotz einer absolut gerechtfertigten Note 6 nicht wirklich die Wertung für "standing on the shoulder of giants" nach unten zu ziehen

- "dig out your soul" ist das einzige Album ohne 1 oder 1,5

- ärgerlich dass bei "be here now" kein Produzent dabei war der ab und zu mal räuspernd den Kopf geschüttelt hat, Stichwort "Hitpotential, verstecktes"

- für Nerds die Wertung für "the masterplan": ⌀ 2,5 - stark nach unten gezogen durch "swamp song" und "I am the walrus" (ohne die beiden: ⌀ 2,16)

Die Wertung für Noel Gallagher's high flying birds kommt trotz mehrmaligem Hören per stream erst wenn ich die CD (ja liebe Kinder, so was gibt es noch! Das sind diese silbernen flachen Dinger die nicht in den Ipod passen und auf denen man sein Bier abstellen kann.) morgen endlich im Briefkasten habe.
